Trace Fossil

Trace Fossils refers to the fossilised remains of biological activity but not an actual creature, for example burrows or footprints would be examples of trace fossils. 

Trace fossils can regularly be found in the London Clay with numerous lobster burrows and worm burrows such as the Teredo wood which can often be found on the beaches.
