Tankerton is another site in which the London Clay is exposed and fossils can be collected. Tankerton has the division B1 and B2 of the London Clay exposed. This site can be very rich in fossils finds with crabs, lobsters, fish, gastropods and much more. The majority of fossils found here are preserved in a phosphatic nodules with shark / fish teeth being rarer at this site than others, these phosphatic nodules can be found in the foreshore of the beach so it is recommended to visit this site at low tide.
